Veneers

Dental veneers are most often considered a cosmetic dental procedure. Veneers consist of thin porcelain shells that cover the teeth to repair cracks, chips or other blemishes. Dental veneers can also add esthetics to your smile by changing the shape, form and beauty to obtain that perfect smile you’ve always wanted. Think “Hollywood smile.”

Why Get Veneers?

  • Cosmetically, to create a uniform, white, beautiful smile

  • Crooked teeth

  • Misshapen teeth

  • Severely discolored or stained teeth

  • Teeth that are too small or large

  • Unwanted or uneven spaces

  • Worn or chipped teeth

The Process

After a thorough exam of your teeth, gums and supporting bone structure, your dentist will discuss treatment options with you and answer your questions. If the agreed upon treatment is a dental veneer, your Dentist will:

  1. Apply a local anesthetic to the affected area of your mouth

  2. Remove a small amount of enamel from the front of your tooth to make place for the veneer

  3. Use 3-D imaging to design and create your veneer

  4. Clean and polish the tooth's front surface

  5. Bond the veneer in place to permanently affix it

  6. Expose the veneer to special hand-held light to harden the repaired surface of your tooth
