Crowns

Crowns are a great treatment option to restore health to a compromised tooth. In teeth where a composite tooth-colored filling would not be viable, porcelain crowns are usually recommended.

Reasons To Get A Crown

  • You have a cavity that is too large for a filling

  • You have a tooth that is cracked, worn down, or otherwise weakened

  • You have had root canal treatment — the crown will protect the restored tooth

  • You want to cover a discolored or badly shaped tooth and improve your smile

Full Porcelain

Porcelain is attractive, strong, stable, and highly resistant to wear. It offers a high level of biocompatibility because it does not contain metal. A porcelain crown provides the best natural color match to the rest of your teeth and is an excellent choice for front teeth.

Patient Experience

After a thorough exam of your teeth, gums and supporting bone structure, your Dentist will discuss treatment options with you and answer your questions. If the agreed upon-treatment is a dental crown, your Dentist will apply a local anesthetic to prepare your tooth or dental implant. Your dentist will then make your crown during your appointment and fit it to make it look and feel just like it was before.

At Whiting Dental, we try to make sure every restoration we do is “cosmetic.” For smaller to moderate-sized cavities in teeth, we use a metal-free composite filling material to match the tooth, so you won’t even know they are there.
